A rich, fragrant juniper London Dry Gin with a herbaceous and coniferous pine core followed by refreshing orchard-fresh fruits from the crab apples. The addition of orange and lemon brings all the flavours together whilst keeping the juniper constantly present giving a subtle spicy lingering finish.
We distil using a hand built 100 litre column still, which delivers smooth, clean and flavoursome spirits. We distil using our senses; we taste, we smell, we look and we adjust the process throughout, only collecting the hearts, we don't blend back the heads or tails, they are rectified and turned back into neat ethanol for future batches.
Each run produces just 80 bottles and we let the young spirit settle and age for a few days before we step blend to bottling strength using reverse osmosis filtered cool and crisp Derbyshire water.
Early in 2023 we made a decision to start the process of becoming a B Corp certified company, the rebrand of Peak Heritage is the first on countless steps to achieving that goal.
We have gone back to the drawing board with Peak Heritage and de-constructed the brand, whilst putting it back together we have sourced every element as locally, ethically, sustainably and with as low a carbon impact as practicably possible.
The bottle is a lightweight elegant design, sourced in the UK, just 60 miles from the farm, made with British sand. The closure is made from natural materials and is recyclable.
The labels are printed on 100% recycled paper, the topper paper is printed locally just down the road using organic ink on 100% recycled paper. The jute string is undyed and made in Derbyshire. This is a 100% plastic free product.
We forage and grow a large percentage of the botanicals for these expressions, we compost the spent distilling botanicals, the still and the business are run on solar energy which is stored in batteries on the farm. This is a truly low impact luxury artisan product.
